Orchids-Three Orchid Blooms
Orchids-Three Orchid Blooms. This is one of my old orchid plants I had and have sadly lost. I have since started back into buying orchid plants again. I missed having blooms during the winter months to brighten up the house. I can’t remember the name of this one but I keep searching, hopefully one day I will find it for sale somewhere.
ROSE-OTHELLO, THE ROSE
ROSE-OTHELLO, THE ROSE. This beautiful rose smells just as lovely as it looks! It has a deep old fashioned rose fragrance. The blooms are a deep crimson color offset by the deep green foliage. The bush is a repeat bloomer so you can enjoy this masterpiece all seasaon. You have to be very careful when cutting the roses for a bouquet, the thorns are very, very sharp and ridgid. The bush I have in my garden was originally my mom’s. She passed 16 years ago and I have no idea how many years she had this rose in her garden. I think the bush is at least 20 years old and still going strong.
ECHINACEA-TIKI TORCH CLOSE UP
ECHINACEA-TIKI TORCH CLOSE UP. One of my favorite echinacea plants is Tiki Torch. The array of colors, orange,yellow,brown and green, plus the shape variations in the petals of the blooms makes this a very interesting echinacea. It stands out from all the others. They stand about two to three feet tall, the taller stalks benefit from staking. This plant is surely a winner for the backyard gardens.

SUNFLOWER-TWO BEES HIDING Was taken in my backyard gardens. I have this variety with the yellow center and also the more common variety with the dark center. Both varieties offer plenty of seeds for all the birds visiting my gardens, especially the gold finches! In some religions the sunflower symbolizes worship and faithfulness due to the resemblance to the sun. A more traditional symbol would be one of friendship.
